CHRISC Karneval

Sylivia has attended a carnival with KRIK. She enjoyed dressing up in historical costumes:
It is important to recall and do the things people used to do even if they are alive or not. At Krik or Chrisc carnival me and Calvin we decided to put on the ways people used to dress long time in Uganda in the time of Idi Amin Dada. This was nice coz Calvin looked like Amin and me i looked they way ladies would put on meeting amin and dancing for him. So people always appreciate your cultures and respect it also and aslo try to do things that have been done by your great people , the people that canot be forgotten at all This is the goodness of KRIK here in Norway and the things it is doing to all people regardless of age, gender, country, we are all the same.

Skiing in Norway

Sylivia from Uganda has tried skiing. It turned out to be more difficult than it looked:
Skiing is the best sport activity in Norway best every young people and even old people like to go for skiing. To us from other countries it is fun and so we try our best to runto have fun and also to fit in the society and also learn the culture better if you engage yourself in such activities.

At the beginning i was falling everytime and then but when i got into the sysytem i started skiing ,lifting up the skiing sticks and just sliding on the snow with balance. To me whenever i would see people skiing from up the mountain, i would always say that is easy but when you try thats when you will see how hard it is,.
Never say that i cando this before you try it out, so easy in your eyes but difficult in action.

First snow

There is something about the first snow. Sylivia and Simon from Uganda share their opinions about their first snow in Norway. First Sylivia:
The first snow in Norway this year made me think about home the time it snowed. But after some time i found it interesting because it was funny walking sliding and in motion. Snow is good because it brings the beauty and those who are sportic start trying out their talents. I love snow though cold but i love snow.
ENJOY THE SAME YOU PEOPLE TIME IS LEAVING YOU.

Simon also has som thoughts:
it was this last week of october when i snow falling down it was fun. it was difficult to walk along the road,it was slippery, i almost fell down but i had winter shoes which were good.but the whole day was so cold, most people were telling me that it was too earlly to have snow fall.but today 31 of octorba, snow dissappeared and we have sunshine, you know its sweet to be under the sun, most people spend their time in their rooms and its difficult to talk to people anyhow, where i stay i can finish two weeks without seeing peoples faces, when i ask them where they be they tell that they spend their time reading books.so i find abig problem making friends here apart from when i meet hald students at the place of work.but its also cold here were i stay am just near the sea,we have agim were if i want to train my muscles i can go there, and also swimming pool.its fun.

Life in Norway

Living in a foreign country far away from home brings challenges, but also joys. Sylvia from Uganda is enjoying life in Norway:
To be in Norway is not a dream but for a purpose. My first stay in this country was so strange to me but after sometime i got in system of the country. Because of being a peaceful country, walking along the streets is at any time you want to take a move. when walking around the streets i enjoy coz it is comfortable where by you can sleep down when your tied and remain the way you came.

Life in Norway is simple coz you dress any how and no one minds about you, no matter what job your doing, sex, age, character and other things, no one runs after you. But though life is simple, we must keep our eyes on the bigness goal that we have. Having faith in your heart brings powerful results of word to your mind, heart, and life.

Brothers and sisters, keep your eyes to the God and his ability he has promised. Take step by step, but not all at once, but step by step, and each step you take will be a step of MIRACLE. You can ask yourself who this is, but this is SYLIVIA NOW A NORWEGIAN GIRL NOT A UGANDAN GIRL.

MAY GOD BE WITH YOU ALL AND KEEP YOU IN HIS PALMS.

KRIK Explore

Photo: sylivia and family

Ritha attended the KRIK Explore camp in Norway. This is how it went down:
It was real fun to have the four days of camp in LILLEHAMMER , where we had skiing acheing and many other activities, there was alot of snow and although it was cold but i didnt feel it so much because there was alot of activities to keep me warm, On new years night, we went to the top of the mountain where we could view the whole city, we went with some kind of lighted fire to wait for the new year and when twelve oclock reached we saw alot of fire works in the city and this made the sky look so beautiful with different colurs and this went on for something like an hour which was so nice to experience, after there we came back down where we had a party and a disco afterwords which was alot entertaining to me. and this is how i received the new year here,
